YOu do make a point I've never thought about in regards to using martial arts to be in a flow state of mind, body and spirit. When I was doing, yoga, it was the same concept but a lot of these mindful, spiritual practices becomes who can jump the furthest, achieve the most or get stronger quicker. We lose the art of the practice and strive for the end results. We turn an inward pursuit sometimes into competition and who can out whatever the other person. We embrace the ego instead of surrendering to practice.
